This is 100% Pure Wool Felt, factory cleaned and hand made. It is 12mm thick with an approximate R 2.0 thermal rating. Due to its organic nature, it is not recommended for wet humid conditions.

Synthetic Felt [polyester] :
Our recommended and standard insulation. Made from factory processed re-spun polyester fibre, it is pressed into 8mm thick layers for insulation purposes. Being Synthetic it is not subject to rotting or mould and can stand being wet as it dries out easily. Its R value is about 1.5. Its durability and lightness in weight is of great value in setting up. It is also less than half the weight of the Pure Wool.

Thermal Blankets:
This is a high-tech bubble plastic material with a layer of aluminium on each side. Used in the Australian building industry for roof and wall insulation it is of high standard and very durable. It offers a fire rating suitable for fire prone areas. It is water proof and complies with the BCA AS/NZS 4859.1. Depending on its thickness it offers an R 1.5 or R 2.7 insulation value.
